An awesome traverse from one valley to another passing across the eastern flank of the Huayna Potosi mountain.

Condoriri - Zongo Itinerary

DAY ONE

Depart La Paz for Tuni Condoriri, where we will begin a three hour trek to Chiar Khota lagoon, on the banks of which we will make our first camp.

DAY TWO

Crossing two mountain passes of around 4,900m, we descend into the Liviņosa Valley to the community of Ancoma, at 3,750m. Camp.

DAY THREE

Further descent into Chacapampa, in the Zongo valley, best known for its hydroelectric plants which feed much of the city of La Paz. A vehicle will be waiting for us to take us back to La Paz.

Did you know?

The communities along this trek route made their living for many years mining the tin deposits found in the rocks. With the crash of the price of the mineral, it ceased to be cost effective so they have either returned to agriculture or been forced to move to the city.
